Everyone has a spot. A place where you go to remind yourself of something beautiful, a place to go when you feel sad, or need to reclaim perspective. When I was growing up, West Beach was that place for me. It was part of my life as a sanctuary – a place where I would see and experience the beauty of God. This painting was inspired by the place I would go to as a boy. It was painted from memory, and I did the best I could to capture the grandeur I remember.
